Football versus soccer as spectator sports

COMPARE AND CONTRAST FOOTBALL AND SOCCER

In most countries, soccer is known as football, but in the United States, soccer refers to the sport where players attempt to kick a round ball into the opponent's net. Football, however, is played with the offense attempting to carry the ball over the goal line. While the two sports have some similarities in rules, terminology, strategy and skills, they also have many differences, like players, hands and feet, scoring, field and clock.  First, during game the number of substitution player from football is more than soccer.  Football and soccer games allow a maximum of 11 players on the field at one time during play. Each player is designated a specific position or job responsibility. Football teams are allowed an unlimited number of substitutions during games. Soccer, however, limits the number of substitutions to three per match but may increase to six during friendly competitions or recreational games. Second, football and soccer have difference of hands and feet. Football and soccer players use their hands differently to improve performance. Football players are required to carry the ball with their hands to maintain possession. Soccer players are restricted from using their hands to touch or carry the ball, except for the goalkeeper. Soccer players rely on their feet to pass, dribble or move the ball, whereas football players are only allowed to use their feet during kickoffs, field goals and punts. Third, the score of goal from football is greater than soccer. Both football and soccer have goal lines that indicate a successful offensive play, but the scoring is different. In football, when a team advances the ball across the goal line, it is awarded six points, with the chance to add one or two points from an extra-point kick or two-point conversion. A soccer team, however, is only awarded one point for a goal. As a result, soccer matches are generally lower scoring than football games. Fourth, football and soccer have difference of field. Football and soccer are played on similar fields with natural grass or artificial surfaces. Football fields measure 120 yards long, including the two 10-yard end zones, with a width of 53 yards. Soccer fields are slightly longer, with a maximum length of about 130 yards and a normal width of between 70 and 80 yards. Fifth, Football and soccer have difference of clock. Football and soccer games use an official game clock to track the quarters, halves and playing time. Football is split into four 15-minute quarters with a two-minute intermission between the first and second quarters and third and fourth quarters. A 12-minute halftime is allowed between the second and third quarters. A separate play clock is used to limit the offensive time to a maximum 40 seconds between plays, while the plays in soccer are continuous. In soccer, there are two 45-minute halves with a continuously running clock and a 15-minute halftime. In the United States, football is more popular than soccer. But in the world, soccer is more popular than football. So, I select soccer for becoming my favorite sport.
